Ordovician Minnesota Mural | Blue Rhino Studio
I created this Ordovician seabed mural as part of the multi-year renovations Blue Rhino Studio designed and fabricated for Quarry Hill Nature Center in Rochester Minnesota, completed in spring of 2018. The mural features some of the iconic invertebrate and mollusk animal species that we know from fossil remains left in the sedimentary rock layers that make up the geological foundation for most of the state of Minnesota. These fossils are especially plentiful at the old quarry site that is part of QHNC's expansive grounds, and the interactive faux rock foreground to this feature, created by Blue Rhino Studio, showcases some examples of real specimens discovered there.
