Discovery Bay | Pacific Northwest Tidepools
I illustrated large, digital-watercolor habitat illustrations for the new signage at the Minnesota Zoo's Discovery Bay. Both panels show a complex ecosystem with plants, birds, fish, invertebrates and mammal species unique and endemic to each habitat. This Tidepool illustration features a rocky Pacific-Northwest shoreline with iconic Oregon-coast wildlife, including green and aggregating anemone, hermit and shore crabs, ochre seastar, purple sea urchin, pacific octopus, oystercatcher and cormorants, acorn and goosneck barnacle, as well as rockweed, sea palm and bull kelp.
